WaMu Digital Campaign

Role: Art Director
Agency: Razorfish
Client: Washington Mutual (WaMu)
Category: Digital Advertising & Campaign System

Overview

For Washington Mutual’s online initiatives at Razorfish, I designed a set of direct marketing banner ads and supporting digital assets that extended the client’s brand voice into interactive digital channels. The work focused on presenting messaging and promotional content in a way that was both visually engaging and conversion-oriented.

Design Challenge

The primary challenge was marrying clear, action-driven messaging with visual layouts that felt friendly and aligned with WaMu’s approachable brand personality. Each ad unit needed to adapt to diverse display formats while preserving hierarchy, legibility, and responsiveness to audience expectations.

Approach & Visual System

I developed a modular visual framework that enabled consistent design executions across various banner dimensions, focusing on:

  • Clear messaging hierarchy to support conversion goals

  • Brand-aligned layouts that felt consistent yet flexible

  • Component reuse to streamline production across formats

  • Legibility and performance optimization for digital placements

This approach ensured that core elements—offers, calls to action, and brand touchpoints—remained clear and impactful in every execution.

Outcome

The final asset suite delivered a cohesive and conversion-focused campaign presence for WaMu across digital channels. This project demonstrates strong production discipline, clarity in visual execution, and effectiveness in adapting brand requirements into scalable digital formats.
